Lusail City CP1 - 66kV & 11kV Substation
Lusail is the newest planned city in Qatar, located on the coast, in the northern part of the municipality of Al Daayen. Lusail is located about 15km north of the city centre of Doha, just north of the West Bay Lagoon, on over 35km² and will eventually provide accommodation for up to 260,000 people. It has marinas, residential areas, island resorts, commercial districts, luxury shopping and leisure facilities, including two golf courses, an all giraffe zoo and an entertainment district. Construction is still ongoing.
Background
The Power systems within CP1 will be all fed from the Kahramaa LDS1 220kv/66kv substation. The 66kV Substations M1, M2 and M3 will be fed from 66kV cables that are run though the Utility Tunnel. The 66kV Substation at Energy City will have a buried 66kV cable route and from these four 66kV/11kV substations, a network of 11kV cables will feed 40x11kV substations across CP1. On completion all of these substations will be owned and operated by Kahramaa Power Authority.
